My Beloved

The Perfect Song for this post
which I'm sure was playing at some of the hottest parties in the New York
Bright Lights Bigger City
By. Cee Lo Green

Have you ever have that one true love, in which-that, one true love, is the bold faced underlining factor of your most beloved fantasies.  You fantasize about this true love so much you feel as if you could write a thousand heartfelt letters about it.  With such passion, you believe your letter could match or exceed the passion and true artistic beauty painted in each line written by greats like Shakespeare, even in his most famous expressions of love and beauty, such as Sonnet 18.  Well my one true love may be a little over fantasized by people all around the world, but the New York City dream like possibilities on each and every block makes the city my one true love.  Only 45 minutes away by train, I'm lucky enough to embrace the vivacious vibes the city gives me as soon as I get off my NJ Transit train.  Though not yet 21, or even close if were being realistic, I browse through the pictures on-Style.com and Vogue Daily-to stay in touch with the night life I can only dream to be part of, until this fantasy turns into a dream like reality.  I've been diligently patrolling the latest photos of celeb and socialite gatherings on my iPhone's various fashion apps, and have accumulated a series of my favorite looks of the past several big parties to hit the city that never sleeps, here's a small bite of the big apple.

Mininmalist

Simply Chic
Summer is steadily approaching and no matter how chic layering has been; the fewer layers, the better.  To survive the New York City and New Jersey weather this summer I have been getting inspirations from all around, and most commonly from the floral dresses each and every girl should have in their closet this season.  I know I have a couple in my closet, and they really come in handy.  Especially on a day like today, its Memorial Day weekend and its blazing in the Tri-State area.  Today is one of those perfect days for a floral dress which could easily be styled with a cute pair of shoes or even some open toed sandals.  In addition let’s not forget the wonders you can do with a pair of shorts and a simple top.  Thanks to this seasons leading trend, color blocking, it is possible to throw on 3 simple things (tank, shorts, sandals) and color block them making yourself instantly fashionable (as long as you mix the right colors).  Here a few minimalist affordable chic outfits that you should try out.

It's Easier Said Than Done

Closer To My Dreams..
This song deffinetly explains my mood right now
very chill and optimistic, one of those random songs I stumble upon
and somehow know the lyrics to..
Closer
By Goapele
So lately I have been getting a lot of fahion related inspiration, and it has made me want to continue to strive to be the best blogger I can be (sort of how the army encourages their soldiers to be, minus the nasty camouflage and tacky cheap combat boots).  With my final days of school winding down, I’ve begun to lose focus on school a bit, and find myself looking out the window daydreaming during my 3rd period Geometry class.  Which that and the fact that I refuse to go buy a calculator, but recently bought these vintage Betsey Johnson heels for the same price as the calculator, is part of the reason I may be doing so poorly this quarter.  I know schools not over and I should finish just as strong as I started, but like the title of the post, it’s easier said than done.  I have taken that attitude about a lot of things lately, but one thing I refuse to take for granted and will continue to put 100% effort into is this blog.
I am constantly thinking of great ideas to make it better, and things tha would help set it apart from all of the other fashion blogs.  My latest idea is starting my own YouTube channel, giving you a weekly look into what it’s like being Bobbie Austin, and maybe even what its like being Amira Rasool as well (my real name).  Another idea is to collaborate with other up and coming local bloggers and or photographers, in order for us both to help each other grown and expand.  I have recently put that to the test with my last outfit post, photographed by my friend Adam, who also designs his on graphic T-Shirts.  I can't say that this is going to all get done immediately, but with my passion and determination I will (eventually) reach my goal, even with my impossible standards of perfection.  Who knows, a new layout for my blog could be revealed within just a matter of weeks.  My optimism sometimes frightens my friends and family, but always seems so simplistic to me.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from looks I've documented on my blog, and ideas of new things that may be coming soon..
Document with either a video camera or digital camera other fashion forward people and what’s in their closets.  I assembled looks that I think would be nice and allow them to showcase some of their hidden fashion secrets as well as mine.
Born & Raised-Jersey Girl: Spotlight on my small suburban town, and the small unnoticeable inspirations that have molded me into the person I am today.
Stepping down from the 5'9" and up height some of my exceedingly high heels give me and showing that I have more of a diverse style outside of skirts, dresses, and pumps.  Take a mini day trip to a hipster city and show off my urban style, maybe even daring to throw on a pair of sneakers for the first time in years.
Different style tributes to different decades, as I grab inspiration from the most fashionable women back in each time frame.
Video interviews with stylish people and photo shoots of local fashion forward people.

Beyond the Jersey Borders
Considering my Paris trip has been postponed, a trip to LA might be in my near future this summer, exploring the west coast styles while hanging out on the mysteriously sunny side of the coast.
Stop being so camera shy, it's time I begin to show off my daily outfits a little more often, I have notice my outfit post have been a favorite lately.  And adding a few more outfits to my LookBook couldn't hurt.
And Many More To Come..

May's Letter From The Editor

Whats the word Anna?

As Anna Wintour and the rest of the Vogue office likes to say it is "Met Season" and the big buzz this year is all focused on one great man, who will forever be missed-Alexander McQueen.  Ever since I found out about the Savage Beauty exhibit’s opening in honor of the late great Alexander McQueen, I have created multiple posts to honor his memory.  However I have done nothing compared to the May issue of Vogue; in which they dedicated the better part of the magazine to Alexander McQueen and his breath taking creations.  But in this month’s letter Anna not only touches on the great success of McQueen, she also commends and recognizes the great impact the Costume Institute has had on the fashion industry, and our culture as a whole.
With all the hesitations and assumptions made of Anna, if a person who is not a fan unlike me, who has wrote her off based on what they have heard, they would have never expected the witty jokes and tales she tells us in this letter.  As she speaks of the stage frighten stars, and the bazaar mishaps that have gone on during the Costume Institute gala.  But in the fashion industry such things can only be expected, to achieve perfection would be irrelevant, but to achieve the goal of enlightening the public and encouraging a good time for all would be the reachable overall goal of such a gathering.  The letter expresses the good the Costume Institute has done, and the Alexander McQueen exhibits shows that even more.
